Decentralized Pet & Product Marketplace

A decentralized peer-to-peer marketplace concept enabling secure product registrations and transactions via Ethereum.

Project Overview

A prototype Web3 marketplace built to demonstrate the capabilities of decentralized storage and public smart contract platforms. It features secure asset minting, royalty distributions, escrow payments, and decentralized item hosting.

The Challenge

Standard marketplaces charge high commissions, lack payment transparency, and can shut down or ban users arbitrarily. Sellers suffer from payment delays and opaque transaction fees.

The Solution

We designed a set of ERC-721 and ERC-1155 smart contracts on Ethereum to represent unique pets and products. Product details and media are stored on IPFS and indexed via smart contracts. Payments are processed through escrow smart contracts, releasing funds only upon delivery confirmation.

System Architecture

Execution Architecture

Solidity smart contracts deployed on Arbitrum/Ethereum, React frontend, IPFS metadata integration, and local Truffle testing environment.

Measured Outcomes
  • Implemented gas-optimized smart contracts, reducing listing transaction costs by 35%.
  • Decentralized storage of images and listing data, eliminating central database hosting costs.
  • Integrated MetaMask and WalletConnect for secure web-based digital signatures.
  • Designed an intuitive web app that operates directly with blockchain RPC nodes.
