Decentralized Lottery DApp

A decentralized lottery application using smart contracts for transparent registrations and random winner selection.

Project Overview

A showcase decentralized application built to demonstrate provably fair numbers and automated prize distributions. The DApp allows global users to buy lottery tickets using cryptocurrency, with all rules, pool tracking, and payouts handled autonomously by smart contracts.

The Challenge

Traditional lotteries suffer from transparency issues. Players must trust that drawing mechanisms are fair, administrative fees are not inflated, and payouts will be honored without litigation.

The Solution

We engineered an autonomous lottery smart contract. We integrated Chainlink VRF (Verifiable Random Function) to guarantee provably fair, cryptographically verifiable random numbers for drawing winners. The contract automatically distributes accumulated ticket pool funds to the winning address.

System Architecture

Execution Architecture

Solidity on EVM, Chainlink VRF integration, React/TypeScript frontend, and Ethers.js ledger connectivity.

Measured Outcomes
  • 100% automated lifecycle: registration, drawing, and payouts occur with zero human intervention.
  • Provably fair drawing audit logs readable on Etherscan by any participant.
  • Created an easy-to-use React portal for live pool statistics and transaction tracking.
  • Designed for zero-trust environments, preventing admin override or pool locking.
